Welcome to Borderlands Music, a home to music enthusiasts who seek something deeper, outside the ordinary. With a carefully curated journey through sound, we bend the genres and embrace the in-between. Borderlands holds on to one, simple philosophy: great music transcends boundaries.
Taking inspiration from genres such as Melodic House, Techno, Progressive and Trance, while steering clear from their definition, we’re drawn to the spaces in-between. We don’t label by genre, but dare to colour outside the lines. Our focus and aim is to build a space where creativity flows freely, undefined – a place where music producers aren’t labelled by a single genre and listeners set out to explore.
Founded by artist duo Hel:sløwed—Misja Helsloot and Michael de Kooker, both established names in the electronic music scene—Borderlands Music is a reflection of their shared vision. Over the years, they’ve explored the depths of sound, from Misja’s legacy in the trance world to Michael’s innovative and incredibly diverse approaches in production. Together, Misja and Michael bring a unique perspective to the label, combining decades of experience with a hunger for the fresh and undiscovered.
